I was left with a limp and several lumps on my ankle which made it difficult to maintain balance. I was in constant pain and didn’t think it was possible for my ankle to ever heal.\nWe saw the ad for Foot and Ankle Institute of Miami Beach and waited for about 3 months before finally giving it a shot. I was skeptical to say the least. I read what other patients had to say about stem cell treatment and decided to give it a try without any expectations. I’ll have to admit, the technology is a breakthrough. It works! I couldn’t be happier about my decision to meet Dr. Guyen. I’ve never met a physician more committed to helping her patients heal. To all those who’re considering stem cell treatment, please note that it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time and patience. It’s a long journey but it’s totally worth it. I can now move my foot more than I have ever been able to since my injury. My injury happened 20 years ago so it’s going to take some time to heal. While other treatments have failed me, I’m sure that with stem cell therapy, my ankle’s functioning will be fully restored, if not more than any other treatment I’ve had. I began treatment about a year ago and will continue to do so. Dr. Guyen’s treatments have helped me make serious progress. I am no longer a skeptic and wholeheartedly encourage others to look into stem cell therapy.\nR.E., Tampa Bay\n","externalUrl":null,"permalink":"/testimonials/r-e-tampa-bay/","section":"Testimonials","summary":"After four botched surgeries, I almost gave up on my ankle ever healing.","title":"R.E., Tampa Bay","type":"testimonials"},{"content":" Overview At the Foot \u0026amp; Ankle Institute of Miami Beach, we aim to treat our patients with the latest technology. Stem cell and blood platelet procedures make waves in the field of podiatry. They treat foot and ankle pain and injuries effectively.\nBefore you opt for surgery, replacement, or fusion, speak to the physician who treats your condition about PRP injections or cell-based therapy. Compared to surgery, these options are non-intrusive.\nPhysicians all over the world recommend stem cell therapy as a non-invasive alternative to traditional foot and ankle surgery. Our physicians carefully diagnose your foot and ankle before they suggest the most suitable cell-based therapy for your specific condition.\nHow does it work? Our bodies have an inbuilt healing mechanism. Stem cells let the damaged tissue repair itself without external medication and procedures. Conventional foot and ankle treatment uses cortisone in combination with other drugs to provide pain relief, but this is only a short-term solution.\nCell-based therapy provides a long-term solution to pain, because it restores the health of the affected tissue. It is a natural alternative to steroid shots and cortisone. It can be used to treat many foot and ankle problems, including muscle injuries, joint injuries, ligament injuries, major wounds, and arthritis.\nTo find out more about stem cell therapy, meet with one of our physicians.\nConditions we treat Fractures Arthritis Ankle instability Peroneal tendon tear or split Ligament sprain or tear Sub-talar arthritis or instability Tarsal tunnel syndrome Plantar fasciitis and heel pain Scar tissue Diabetic wounds Our consulting physicians treat all musculoskeletal joints, which includes shoulders, knees, hips, and back. I WAS skeptical.\nI use that in the PAST tense, as this new technology is a breakthrough. My background is a long story, so the cliff notes are what follow. I was in a horrific aircraft accident in 1996, resulting in numerous broken bones, including fractured skull, but more importantly to the association with my nerve issue, was a broken back. This resulted in spinal damage leading to partial and, in some areas of my lower right leg and foot, complete paralysis of movement. I could no longer move my right foot right or left, but more importantly, could not move it up, as if lifting it towards the sky.\nAfter my fiancée, now my lovely wife, Kimberly, insisted I look into this treatment method, I decided to take the plunge. I figured nothing ventured, nothing gained, and what else would I be doing during the time I would be receiving my treatment anyway.\nThis was the BEST decision in my health care I have made. Now let me say that it has not been a night and day change – nothing happens overnight. However, that being said, I can now move my foot to the right and the left, not 100%, but noticeably more than I ever could. I can begin to see my foot starting to move upwards. It is not 100% yet, and after 20 years that have passed since my injury, I realize it is going to be a long journey, but I am more than optimistic that I will achieve as close to 100% as physically possible.\nSpeaking realistically, this had been a year’s long hard road since I began my treatments. I am continuing with the treatments as prescribed by Dr. Guyen indefinitely, as there is still progress being made. I am no longer a skeptic of treatments like this, and as such I have nothing but the highest thanks to Dr. Guyen and her fantastic group of nurses and assistants. I can do nothing short of encourage anyone who is thinking of getting this done, or on the fence, that there should be no hesitation about getting stem cell treatments. Dr. Guyen has indeed been a life changer.\nDave Hegedus, Charlotte, NC\n","externalUrl":null,"permalink":"/testimonials/dave-hegedus/","section":"Testimonials","summary":"Let me begin by saying that I was skeptical at first when I heard and read the previous patients’ testimonies and related results after receiving stem cell treatments from Dr. Guyen.","title":"Dave Hegedus, Charlotte, NC","type":"testimonials"},{"content":"The physicians at the Foot \u0026amp; Ankle Institute of Miami Beach are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. PRP therapy makes headlines in the medical industry. Time and again, it proves itself effective in the treatment of foot and ankle injuries.\nHow PRP therapy works Platelets in the body have various functions. Their primary role is to assist in blood clotting, so that we do not bleed excessively when we get a cut. Platelets also carry proteins that assist with the healing of wounds.\nPRP therapy works by injection into the tissue that is damaged or inflamed. It promotes the healing of wounds.
